Fumo di sigaretta e prognosi del tumore mammario

“A number of cohort studies have suggested that former smokers have no increased risk for a breast cancer recurrence and early death.   However, this is not the case.  Risk of recurrence and early death is related  to the lifetime exposure to cigarettes.  Quitting smoking is important for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer as it will reduce their risk of both recurrence and early death”.
