A novel endoscopic-assisted technique for skin-sparing mastectomy

We described a novel endoscopic-assisted technique for skin-sparing mastectomy combined with sentinel node biopsy, followed by immediate breast reconstruction with mammary prosthesis. We think that this technique reduces surgical scarring and provides excellent cosmetic results without diminishing oncological safety, and that the technique is well accepted by the patients with early-stage breast cancer. We suppose that the procedure could be considered an alternative treatment option for patients who are not candidates for breast-conserving surgery  because of the presence of a widespread intraductal component or multiple tumours.
